Install Kitchen Cabinets Wall Not Square. The wall is not square: The wall takes a turn just before the corner and seems like it's thicker. Move the vanity top off the cabinet once you have the vanity top square against the wall.
If the out-of-square corner shares two long runs of cabinets, then split the difference equally. A run out along an obtuse corner may leave large gaps between a molded backsplash and the wall. Gaps between countertop and the wall: While not so much of an issue with the actual installation of the cabinets, the lack of "square" poses more problems with countertops, especially with molded laminates that have integral backsplashes.
It's easy for the cabinet to project off the wall slightly out of square, and the result is that the stove or dishwasher doesn't fit.
The point, of course, is for your new kitchen to fit as well as your home's original—installed with the same integrity and care and in plumb, level, and square.
Press down firmly to ensure adhesion between the frame and bottom of the vanity top. If you're hanging new cabinets on an old wall in your kitchen, you're likely to discover that the walls are uneven, leaning forward or back or just randomly ridged. If you don't install kitchen cabinets square and level it will be impossible to get the doors to all line up nicely at the end.
